Carolina Panthers - Cam Newton
QB / Auburn
6'5 - 248 lbs

Cam Newton is a guy who can become the face of a franchise. He reminds me of Magic Johnson in the sense of his charisma, playfulness, and ability to get serious and be productive in a second. Newton has the qualities of a leader and the arm of an NFL quarterback. With a new head coach in Carolina, you can build a pretty strong case that Newton is impassable as the first overall pick.

____________________

2. Denver Broncos - Marcell Dareus
DT / Alabama
6'3 - 319 lbs

Denver is switching from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3. They'll need to use the second overall pick on a player who can fit that scheme. Dareus is a threat to every offense he lines up against and Denver would be wise to claim him. He can be plugged in right away and show off his dominance for the new look Broncos defense.

____________________

3. Buffalo Bills - Von Miller
OLB / Texas A&M
6'3 - 246 lbs

Most people have Von Miller and Patrick Peterson as the best players available in this draft. I couldn't agree any more. Miller is a true stud as an edge rusher. Buffalo has it's eye on Cam Newton, but he's likely to be off the board. Von Miller has to be the second option for a Bill's team that needs a defensive improvement.

____________________

4. Cincinnati Bengals - A.J. Green
WR / Georgia
6'4 - 211 lbs

Carson Palmer would rather retire than play for Cincinnati. Chad "Ochocinco" and Cedric Benson may have already played their last game for the Bengals. If all or any of this comes to be true than Cincinnati will need to draft replacements. A.J. Green is one of the most solid receivers coming out of college in a long time. His height, speed and sure hands amount to a top five pick, and it's hard to imagine the Bengals saying "nah" on this guy.

____________________

5. Arizona Cardinals - Patrick Peterson
CB / LSU
6'0 - 219 lbs

The shutdown corner is a rare commodity in the NFL. Peterson has all the skills to become one of the very few true shutdown corners. He's a big corner with good press skills, ball skills and is impeccable in man coverage. Peterson is also praised for his work as a return specialist at LSU. Arizona lacks depth at corner and a player like this doesn't come around every year.

____________________

6. Cleveland Browns - Julio Jones
WR / Alabama
6'3 - 220 lbs

Big and physical. Julio Jones in a nutshell. A machine of a receiver who comes up big time after time. Cleveland found success under rookie QB Colt McCoy last year and they'll probably be looking to get McCoy a nice new weapon. Jones is a guy who will make blocks in the run game and stretch the field in the passing game. The Browns will take a serious look at Julio Jones with the sixth overall pick.

____________________

7. San Fransisco 49ers - Prince Amukamara
CB / Nebraska
6'0 - 206 lbs

The 49ers will probably be holding their breathe for Patrick Peterson, but I don't see him falling this far. Amukamara isn't a bad back-up plan. He's another corner with good size and ball skills that excels in man coverage. San Fransisco has a weak secondary and you have to imagine they'll be looking to fix that early in this draft.

____________________

8. Tennessee Titans - Blaine Gabbert
QB / Missouri
6'4 - 234 lbs

Tennessee has reiterated that they will not be bringing Vince Young back next year. Leaving a giant hole under center. Gabbert is a highly thought of quarterback who has all the football smarts you look for in a quarterback. Will need time and coaching, but should develop into an NFL starting quarterback.

____________________

9. Dallas Cowboys - Tyron Smith
OT / USC
6'5 - 307 lbs

The Cowboys are looking for help on the offensive line and Tyron Smith is the best available option. He is an extremely athletic tackle with great feet and god instincts. Dallas has other holes to worry about, like it's secondary, but they'll most likely take a lineman here. Smith can come in and play left tackle right away, giving Dallas a better barrier between Tony Romo and opposing defenses.

____________________

10. Washington Redskins - Robert Quinn
OLB / North Carolina
6'4 - 265 lbs

Washington need all the help they can get. You have to imagine whoever the best player available on their board is, is who they will draft. Robert Quinn is a beast and flashes the ability to become on of the NFL's premier pass rushers. With Brian Orakpo and Robert Quinn lined up together on the outside, the Redskins will create a scary attack on all quarterbacks.

____________________

11. Houston Texans - Aldon Smith
OLB / Missouri
6'4 - 263 lbs

When Wade Phillips was in Dallas he had the luxury of having DeMarcus Ware in his defensive scheme. Now in Houston, Phillips will need to find a guy who can become a playmaker like Ware. I've been comparing Aldon Smith as a less-polished version of Ware for a long time and with time and coaching Smith has the potential be just as productive and dangerous.

____________________

12. Minnesota Vikings - Jake Locker
QB / Washington
6'3 - 231 lbs

Here it is, the Jake Locker pick. Minnesota's Brett Favre project is over and they're currently without a declared starting quarterback. Locker has the intangibles, mobility and arm strength to become a great player in the NFL. He'll need some time in the film room and probably on the bench for awhile but in time Locker could become a standout.

____________________

13. Detroit Lions - Da'Quan Bowers
DE / Clemson
6'3 - 280 lbs

Holy falling stock. Bowers was at one time projected as the best player and probable first overall pick. That was awhile ago and since then an injury, poor work ethic and underachieving attitude has caused him to slip quite a bit. Detroit hit a home run last year with Ndamukong Suh and adding Bowers to the mix would give them a potent attack on the line. If Bowers injury proves to be minor and he realizes his potential, Detroit will have themselves a hell of a football player.

____________________

14. St. Louis Rams - Nick Fairley
DT / Auburn
6'4 - 291 lbs

Similar to Bowers, Nick Fairley was at one point considered the top prospect in this draft class. He's a powerful guy who will make plays for your defense. Does a good job hunting down the football. The questions surrounding Fairley are if he can be consistent at the next level. The Rams don't have a defensive tackle of Fairley's stature and will likely be the floor as to where he will go.

____________________

15. Miami Dolphins - Mark Ingram
RB / Alabama
5'9 - 215 lbs

Everyone had Ingram mocked here for what seemed like forever. "Experts" have since decided Ingram's stock is slipping due to an injury. I don't see it that way. Mark Ingram is a head down, bust-through kind of runner who has consistently been productive. The Dolphins risk losing both Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown. Ingram is for sure on Miami's radar and in my opinion still at the top of their draft board.

____________________

16. Jacksonville Jaguars - Ryan Kerrigan
DE / Purdue
6'4 - 267 lbs

The Jaguars have been awful at getting to the quarterback and they'll be looking to address that early on in the draft. Kerrigan is a high-character, relentless player who led the Big-Ten in forced fumbles last year. Jacksonville would be thrilled to call his name with the sixteenth pick. Kerrigan is a future team captain and leader in the NFL and that's the kind of players Jack Del Rio wants on his football team.

____________________

17. New England Patriots - J.J. Watt
DE / Wisconsin
6'5 - 290 lbs

J.J. Watt is a top ten talent with a bright future in the NFL. He's a perfect fit as an end in the 3-4 scheme. New England has been going through a bit of a roster overhaul, adding youth and parting ways with some of it's top veterans. Watt is just another one of the talented youths the Patriots can plug in and expect production from. He's very athletic for his size and should make an impact as a rookie.

____________________

18. San Diego Chargers - Cameron Jordan
DE / California
6'4 - 287 lbs

San Diego needs to get upgrade their front three. Cameron Jordan is one of my favorite prospects in this years draft class. His size, speed and strength make for a monster on the field. He's a versatile lineman who doesn't seem to slow down. The Chargers wouldn't hesitate to take Jordan if he fell to them.

____________________

19. New York Giants - Anthony Castonzo
OT / Boston College
6'7 - 311 lbs

No secret what the Giants want to do here. Offensive line all the way. You could argue Mike Pouncey and Gabe Carimi as strong possibilities, but Castonzo stands out more to me. His potential seems to be greater than Carimi and he fills a bigger need at tackle than Pouncey does at guard. Either way the Giants will be calling one of these guys and I have a hunch if Castonzo is around it will be him.

____________________

20. Tamp Bay Buccaneers - Adrian Clayborn
DE / Iowa
6'3 - 281 lbs

A stud at Iowa, Adrian Clayborn is one of the best defensive ends in this class. He's a tremendous talent with all the physical tools you look for. With Tampa Bay's most obvious hole being at defensive end this would be a smart pick. The Buccaneers brought in Gerald McCoy, who looks like he will pan out to be a great player and adding Clayborn on the line will only make both players better.

____________________

21. Kansas City Chiefs - Gabe Carimi
OT / Wisconsin
6'7 - 314 lbs

I like the idea of Kansas City taking nose tackle Phil Taylor here, but a recent report says Taylor has a foot injury wich can not be fixed through surgery and may cause problems in the future. The injury could cost Taylor a spot in the first round and it will have the Chiefs looking around at other options. One of those options will be offensive tackle Gabe Carimi. He projects as a right tackle and should help pave ways for Jamaal Charles right away.

____________________

22. Indianapolis Colts - Corey Liuget
DT / Illinois
6'2 - 298 lbs

The Colts have avoided seriously upgrading their defensive tackle spots and this may be the year they address the situation. Liuget is an all out football player who has all the ability to be a star at the next level. Indianapolis is also looking for Peyton Manning's protection and might contemplate Gabe Carimi if he's still around. Betting Carimi is off the board the Colts should snatch up the talented Liuget and get a high-performance defensive weapon.

____________________

23. Philadelphia Eagles - Jimmy Smith
CB / Colorado
6'2 - 211 lbs

Cornerback and offensive line is what Philadelphia will be looking for here. Jimmy Smith has as much talent as anyone, but with questions about his character he might fall to the second half of the first round. The Eagles will go on without Ellis Hobbs and have virtually no depth at the corner spot. Smith can contribute from day one and has the tools to develop into a star.

____________________

24. New Orleans Saints - Akeem Ayers
OLB / UCLA
6'3 - 254 lbs

Ayers is mostly considered a 3-4 rush linebacker but has the versatility to play outside in a 4-3 scheme. The Saints have a talented middle linebacker in Jonathan Vilma but don;t have any stud 'backers on the outside. Ayers is project, as he plays stiff at times, but flashes the potential to contribute heavily for a long time.

____________________

25. Seattle Seahawks - Ryan Mallett
QB / Arkansas
6'7 - 253 lbs

Everyone is down on Mallett and he doesn't get much slack. To me, he's better than Joe Flacco coming out of college. Easily has the best arm in the quarterback class and will push defenses back, opening up room for your running game. Has things he needs to work on, but probably the most ready QB to play in the NFL. Could end up being one of the steals of the draft.

____________________

26. Baltimore Ravens - Muhammad Wilkerson
DE / Temple
6'4 - 315 lbs

Flying up boards, Muhammad Wilkerson is the real deal. He's a big bully on the defensive side of the ball. Has impressive power, moves the line and disrupts the pocket. Baltimore will have a hard time passing up Wilkerson here. The Ravens have done a good job assembling a powerhouse defense and Wilkerson would upgrade an already strong squad.

____________________

27. Atlanta Falcons - Mike Pouncey
OG / Florida
6'5 - 303 lbs

The Falcons are in need of interior lineman and Mike Pouncey is the top guy for the job. He's the twin brother or last year's rookie standout Maurkice Pouncey of the Steelers. Mike Pouncey has good feet and can be a lead blocker in the run game. Versatile player who has experience at both guard and center positions. Atlanta will be thrilled if this guy falls this far.

____________________

28. New England Patriots - Nate Solder
OT / Colorado
6'8 - 319 lbs

The closer we get to draft day the more I sense New England has offensive lineman at the very top of their priorities. They will likely take a top rated lineman in the first round. Outside of Tyron Smith, Nate Solder to me is the tackle with most upside in this class. Has a massive frame and is sneaky athletic. Would benefit from adding bulk and power, but can contribute and be a factor immediately for the Patriots.

____________________

29. Chicago Bears - Derek Sherrod
OT / Mississippi State
6'5 - 321 lbs

Chicago has no weakness greater than it's miserable offensive line. Derek Sherrod to me is a reach here, as he needs some tuning and coaching. However, the Bears will probably be willing to reach and hope they can get Sherrod to his potential in a hurry. He lacks fluid movement and plays too tall at times. He's still an upgrade and if the higher rated lineman are already off the board, don't be surprised to see Derek Sherrod in Chicago next year.

____________________

30. New York Jets - Cameron Heyward
DE / Ohio State
6'5 - 294 lbs

Heyward is a coachable player with loads of talent. Will only get better over time and has the leadership qualities and football skills to take over a team. The Jets have a shaky front three coming into this season and will most likely be looking to add some younger pieces. Despite failing on another Ohio State defensive end (Vernon Gholston), Cameron Heyward seems to have the instincts it takes to be a contributor.

____________________

31. Pittsburgh Steelers - Aaron Williams
CB / Texas
6'0 - 204 lbs

Pittsburgh is coming into this draft well aware they need to find more talent for their secondary. Aaron Williams is a guy who can make plays on the ball and be moved around from corner to nickel to safety. The Steelers, no doubt, have Williams on their radar and will be targeting him on draft day. His versatility, size and game tape have him sneaking into the first round.

____________________

32. Green Bay Packer - Danny Watkins
OG / Baylor
6'3 - 310 lbs

The Packers won the Super Bowl last year and although I think they'll want to get some defensive pieces early in the draft, they also have a need for o-linemen. Watkins is a smart blocker who will recognize blitzes. Has average power and mobility but finds ways to succeed against better players. Aaron Rodgers is the man in Green Bay and you know they don;t want anything bad to happen to him. Danny Watkins is the insurance pick as the last man to go in the first round.

2011 Mock Draft 1.0

1. Carolina Panthers - Marcell Dareus
DT / Alabama
6'3 - 319 lbs

Ron Rivera takes over in Carolina and you have to imagine improving the defense is his number one goal in the draft. Dareus is big, and very athletic for a defensive tackle. He explodes off the line, stuffing the run well and creating pressure. The Panthers need to start somewhere and finding a talented anchor for their defensive line could be the answer.

____________________

2. Denver Broncos - Nick Fairley
DT / Auburn
6'4 - 291 lbs

Nick Fairley was at the top of just about everyone's draft board leading up to the combine. Although Marcell Dareus may have out-performed Fairley, he's still a top five player in this years draft. Fairley is relentless in getting to the quarterback and makes plays consistently. Denver needs pieces throughout the entire defense, but Fairley makes a good starting point.

____________________

3. Buffalo Bills - Cam Newton
QB / Auburn
6'5 - 248 lbs

Cam Newton, Cam Newton, Cam Newton... This guy is everywhere. He's got 'Big-Ben' size with impressive mobility and to top it off, the guy can throw a football. The only knock on Newton is a question of maturity. However, the Buffalo Bills can't afford to pass up on a future franchise quarterback like Newton. Alongside with being extremely productive, Cam Newton is extremely popular and Buffalo is in need of a star.

____________________

4. Cincinnati Bengals - Da'Quan Bowers
DE / Clemson
6'3 - 280 lbs

The Bengals saw rookie Carlos Dunlap turn it up at the end of the season last year. Adding another weapon across from him makes Cincinnati's pass rush potentially lethal. Bowers is a possible number one pick come draft day because of his pass rush skills. The one setback to Da'Quan going first overall is a knee injury. If Bowers falls out of the top three the Bengals will have to snatch him up. A full recovery could turn into one of the premier pass-rushers in the NFL.

____________________

5. Arizona Cardinals - Von Miller
OLB / Texas A&M
6'3 - 246 lbs

Von Miller looks better every time you see him play. His Senior Bowl was spectacular. His Combine was spectacular. The guy can play some football. He's fast, aggressive and possesses the instincts a rush linebacker needs to succeed. Arizona will likely part ways with Joey Porter before the start of the season and Von Miller would be the perfect guy to replace him.

____________________

6. Cleveland Browns - A.J. Green
WR / Georgia
6'4 - 211 lbs

Cleveland may have found a quarterback last year in Colt McCoy, but it needs to give him weapons. Josh Cribbs has failed at becoming a solid receiver. Every play A.J. Green is involved in has the potential to be a home-run. Green has the tools and measurements to immediately make an impact as one of the best wide-outs in the league. The combination of crisp route-running, reliable hands and speed down field makes Green the ideal reward for Colt McCoy, from the Cleveland Browns.

____________________

7. San Fransisco 49ers - Patrick Peterson
CB / LSU
6'0 - 219 lbs

True shutdown corners are rare in this league, and Patrick Peterson looks like he can become one. He's a gifted defensive back who also played a big role in the return game for LSU. The 49ers have lacked a star cornerback for some time now and Patrick Peterson will be near impossible to pass up on if he falls this far.

____________________

8. Tennessee Titans - Robert Quinn
DE / North Carolina
6'4 - 264 lbs

Tennessee lacks a reliable pass rush. Despite high expectations on last years first round pick Derrick Morgan, the Tians will probably look to add another weapon on a less than spectacular defensive line. Robert Quinn is a high-motor force and has proven to be productive. With Jason Babin out of Tennessee it's probable they get another talented attack to put opposite Morgan.

____________________

9. Dallas Cowboys - Cameron Jordan
DE / California
6'4 - 287 lbs

Cameron Jordan has catapulted himself on most draft boards because of his versatility and athletic ability. Dallas needs to upgrade their front three, and their entire defense eventually, but Jordan would fit nice in the Cowboys 3-4 scheme. The California defensive stud is a beast against the run and finds a way to get to the quarterback.

____________________

10. Washington Redskins - Blaine Gabbert
QB / Missouri
6'4 - 234 lbs

Some scouts will tell you Blaine Gabbert is the best quarterback available in the draft this year. He's a big kid with a big arm and has a high IQ for the game. Mike Shannahan has made it clear he's not in love with the idea of Donovan McNabb as his starting quarterback and it's hard to believe Rex Grossman is going to take Washington to the next level. The Redskins need to find their guy and Gabbert could very well be that guy.

____________________

11. Houston Texans - Prince Amukamara
CB / Nebraska
6'0 - 206 lbs

I know the Texans spent their first round pick on a corner last year, bu try and tell me Houston didn't have the most awful pass defense last year. If they don't do everything they can to fix that obvious hole then they don't deserve to win games. Prince Amukamara is oozing talent and can start right away for new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

____________________

12. Minnesota Vikings - Tyron Smith
OT / USC
6'5 - 307 lbs

Let's face it, the Vikings failed miserably last year. Their offensive line did nothing to protect old man Favre and Adrain Peterson could use more reliable blocking. Tyron Smith has quick feet and recognizes blitzes well. He's slightly undersized but his frame has room to add bulk. Whoever Minnesota decides to have start at quarterback will need better protecting then what they have to offer right now.

____________________

13. Detroit Lions - Jimmy Smith
CB / Colorado
6'2 - 211 lbs

One of the most intriguing prospects in this years draft is Jimmy Smith. He's a tall corner who played at a high level for Colorado. He'll need a little polishing in the NFL but his speed and size makes him worthy of a first round pick-up. Detroit got decent play out of a few guys in their secondary last year, but nothing outstanding. Smith could be just what Detroit needs.

____________________

14. St. Louis Rams - Julio Jones
WR / Alabama
6'3 - 220 lbs

No one out-performed Julio Jones at the combine, no one. Not to mention he had a broken bone in his foot. He's a complete athlete who does a good job getting yards after the catch. Jones is a big threat receiver, that finds ways to get open down the field. Sam Bradford had a hell of a year as a rookie last year without any real number one wide out. Julio Jones has what it takes to be the guy in St. Louis.

____________________

15. Miami Dolphins - Mark Ingram
RB / Alabama
5'9 - 215 lbs

Both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams might be done in Miami. If that's the case there is no way the Dolphins don't immediately look for replacements. Former Heisman winner Mark Ingram is the top running back in this class and for good reason. He's a bulldozer. Ingram sheds tackles well and fights for every yard. He was extremely productive at Alabama and Miami will need a physical back like Ingram to take on a starting role right away.

____________________

16. Jacksonville Jaguars - Aldon Smith
DE / Missouri
6'4 - 263 lbs

Aldon Smith makes sense in both the 4-3 scheme as a defensive end and the 3-4 scheme as a rush linebacker. Jacksonville has been trying to create an elite defensive line for years, blowing draft picks and over paying players in free agency. Not sure anything will change this year. They still need to find a play maker to come off the edge. Aldon Smith is dangerous as a pass rusher but a little stiff against the run. The Jaguars might take a chance in hopes of developing Smith into a complete defensive end.

____________________

17. New England Patriots - J.J. Watt
DE / Wisconsin
6'5 - 290 lbs

New England's defense is still rebuilding and there are some major holes. One of the biggest is the need for some talent up front. Vince Wilfork can't do it all by himself. J.J. Watt is a terror coming off the line and has the perfect combination of strength and speed. Bill Belichick has done a good job of finding young talent to add to his improving defense and it shouldn't stop here.

____________________

18. San Diego Chargers - Nate Solder
OT / Colorado
6'8 - 319 lbs

One of the best pass protection left tackles in recent years, Nate Solder makes perfect sense for Phillip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers. His size is remarkable and he does a good job of getting to the second level. Ryan Mathews can find some nice lanes behind this quick-footed giant. The Chargers need to get younger on the line and Nate Solder might be the best tackle in this class.

____________________

19. New York Giants - Akeem Ayers
OLB / UCLA
6'3 - 254 lbs

Anyone else shocked the Giants neglected to get younger at the outside linebacker spot in last year's draft? Keith Bullock can't play forever and Giants lack any serious successor. Ayers is sideline to sideline and shed's blocks extremely well. Plays well against the run and can putt pressure on the quarterback. He also possesses good coverage skills for a 250 lb linebacker.

____________________

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Ryan Kerrigan
DE / Purdue
6'4 - 267 lbs

Tampa Bay got an anchor for their defensive line last year in Gerald McCoy, now they need to get a play maker to compliment him on the outside.Kerrigan led the Big-10 in forced fumbles last year and is absolutely relentless in the way he plays football. He needs a little tuning in his open field tackling but has no weakness too serious to fall out of the first round. Kerrigan is a high character player who has potential to be a leader for the Buccaneers.

____________________

21. Kansas City Chiefs - Anthony Costanzo
OT / Boston College
6'7 - 311 lbs

Costanzo started all four years at Boston College and has showed he has what it takes to make a difference at the next level. His mobility makes him an attractive pick for a Kansas City team that has a very shifty runner in Jamaal Charles and is in need of an upgrade on the offensive line. Although his strength is questioned at times, his footwork and blocking in space makes him a good fit for the Chiefs.

____________________

22. Indianapolis Colts - Gabe Carimi
OT / Wisconsin
6'7 - 314 lbs

Peyton Manning is the most prized possession on the Colts team. The least you can do for the guy is give him an upgrade on the offensive line. Gabe Carimi has the ideal size for an NFL tackle. He's an aggressive player who gives it his all on every down. The Colts could use a little fight up front and Carimi can provide just that.

____________________

23. Philadelphia Eagles - Mike Pouncey
OG / Florida
6'5 - 303 lbs

The success Mike Pouncey's twin brother, Maurkice, had last year as a rookie can't hurt his draft stock. Just like Maurkice, Mike Pouncey is a dominant interior lineman with sound run blocking technique. Accelerates off the snap well and drives defenders out of the way. Pouncey does a good job of getting to the second level and opening up space for the runner. It also can't hurt to get Mike Vick a new lineman after being attacked all year behind a less than spectacular o-line.

____________________

24. New Orleans Saints - Corey Liuget
DT / Illinois
6'2 - 298 lbs

Even with the acquisition of Shaun Rogers the Saints should still look for improvement at the defensive tackle spot. Rogers isn't getting any younger and his production is declining. Sedrick Ellis has proven himself for New Orleans but to pair him up with another young talent could give the Saints a scary combo in the middle for many years to come. Corey Liuget is extremely powerful, can move blockers, and is dominant against the run.

____________________

25. Seattle Seahawks - Adrian Clayborn
DE / Iowa
6'3 - 281 lbs

Clayborn was a powerful weapon at Iowa and Seattle could use some of his talents to improve their defense. The Seahawks need to slow down opponents rushing attacks and that just so happens to be Adrian Clayborn's specialty. He's a massive, who makes up for his lack of speed with good instincts and strength. Clayborn is also versatile enough to be moved around from end to tackle and that could have a Seattle team in need of several pieces very interested.

____________________

26. Baltimore Ravens - Torrey Smith
WR / Maryland
6'1 - 204 lbs

The receiving corp in Baltimore is old, seemingly unmotivated and in need of some play making. Anquan Boldin is a legitimate threat but Mason is on his way to being finished and Houshmandzadeh complains more than performs. Torrey Smith has the speed to become a deep threat and the blocking skills to make a difference in the run game too. Smith also shows good leadership qualities and could add some excitement to an offense in need.

____________________

27. Atlanta Falcons - Jonathan Baldwin
WR / Pittsburgh
6'4 - 228 lbs

Matt Ryan is a good quarterback with few weapons. Roddy White is outstanding, but other teams can afford to apply double coverage to White because there's not a whole lot on Atlanta's depth at receiver. Jonathan Baldwin has the right size and ball skills to become a starting receiver at the next level. He has good speed and makes difficult catches. A perfect fit for a team in need of upgrades at the receiver spot.

____________________

28. New England Patriots - Derek Sherrod
OT / Mississippi State
6'5 - 321 lbs

Stephen Neal has retired, Logan Mankins won't be around for too much longer and Matt Light isn't as effective as he used to be. The Patriots need to find replacements sooner than later. Sherrod is a good blocker in space and has good mobility for his size. Will likely need to add some bulk and could use a little tuning, but Sherrod has the potential to be a good starting tackle.

____________________

29. Chicago Bears - Ben Iljana
OT / Villanova
6'4 - 317 lbs

Hands down, no team needs to improve their offensive line more than Chicago. The Bears were awful in pass protection last year. Iljana is a long-armed tackle who might better translate as a guard in the NFL. He picks up blitzes well and has the footwork to help in both pass protection and run blocking. The Bears need to do something up front and Iljana is a good fit.

____________________

30. New York Jets - Phil Taylor
DT / Baylor
6'3 - 334 lbs

Kris Jenkins was cut by the Jets, and even if he resigns he's still a 360 lb, 32 year old who has only played in seven games in the past two years because of injuries. Phil Taylor has rare size and would be a perfect fit in Rex Ryan's 3-4 scheme as the nose tackle. Taylor has the strength you would expect and the speed you wouldn't. The Jets would be filling a huge need and getting a rare athlete.

____________________

31. Pittsburgh Steelers - Brandon Harris
CB / Miami
5'11 - 191 lbs

Pittsburgh's secondary fell apart slowly and painfully as the season went on last year. They'll need to upgrade at the corner spot. Brandon Harris has elite man coverage skills and could become an immediate starter in Pittsburgh. His ability to make plays on the ball and recovery speed would be a huge improvement in the Steelers defensive backfield.

____________________

32. Green Bay Packers - Muhammed Wilkerson
DE / Temple
6'4 - 314 lbs

Muhammed Wilkerson is a prototypical 3-4 end prospect. His size and ability to shed blocks will have him going early in this draft. The Packers were able to win the Super Bowl with odds and ends scattered throughout their defense. Plugging in a guy like Wilkerson will make Green Bay an even tougher defense to face in the 2011 and 2012 season.

____________________

Mock Draft 3.0

1. St Louis Rams - Sam Bradford
QB / Oklahoma
6'4 236 lbs

The closer we get to draft day the more and more it seems the Rams will go with Sam Bradford as their first overall pick. He's an accurate quarterback who may have gone first overall last year, had he declared himself eligible. He possesses good size for quarterback and has nice footwork inside the pocket. Although he missed basically the entire 2009 season, he has enough on tape to be worthy of going first overall. The Rams take Bradford to improve their offense and replace the aging veteran Marc Bulger.

_________________________

2. Detroit Lions - Ndamukong Suh
DT / Nebraska
6'4 307 lbs

The most dominant player along the lines, and maybe overall. Ndamukong Suh would be a nice fit in Detroit. The Lions will debate offensive tackle Russel Okung here but Suh is probably too good to pass up on. His combination of power and instincts make him a relentless horror for opposing offenses. His footwork, balance and focus allows him to be a factor in both rushing the quarterback and stuffing the run. Detroit will take Suh, who can come right in and improve their team.

_________________________

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Gerald McCoy
DT / Oklahoma
6'4 295 lbs

The Buccaneers need defensive lineman and Gerald McCoy is a perfect fit. He's smart against the run and unforgiving in his pass rush. Some scouts even have McCoy over Suh on their draft boards. He's just a rare blend of strength, speed and athleticism. McCoy's ability to flush the quarterback out of the pocket will have Tamp Bay drooling at the mouth. The Buccaneers can address their need for a wide receiver in the second or third round and take Oklahoma's star defensive lineman Gerald McCoy with the third overall pick.

_________________________

4. Washington Redskins - Russell Okung
OT / Oklahoma State
6'5 307 lbs

When you watch the film on Okung you can see exactly what it is that scouts like so much about him. His pass protection skills are phenomenal and will be tough for Washington to pass up on. Okung has a lot going for him. From his power to his footwork to his hand placement. It's all NFL ready. The Redskins will have to pass on Jimmy Clausen, but their need for a left tackle is too important and Okung is too good. Washington will take the big left tackle who can give Jason Campbell, or whoever may be under center next year, more time in the pocket.

_________________________

5. Kansas City Chiefs - Bryan Bulaga
OT / Iowa
6'5 314 lbs

The Chiefs would like to give Matt Cassel some more time in the pocket. They would also love to give Jamaal Charles, and now Thomas Jones, some lanes to run through. They'll have to pass on safety Eric Berry here, which will be difficult, but Bulaga fills a need. He's a solid pass protector with good technique. The Cheifs get a guy who plays hard and can help move an offense down the field.

_________________________

6. Seattle Seahawks - C.J. Spiller
RB / Clemson
5'11 196 lbs

If Seattle wants Spiller, they'll have to draft him here. He's moving up draft boards quickly and may not be around at the 14th overall pick. Spiller is a lightning quick back who finds the end zone well. He would play a big part is Seattle's offense next year. He catches the ball well and he can contribute as a return man. The Seahawks take the ultra-productive Clemson star in hopes that his production will carry over into the NFL.

_________________________

7. Cleveland Browns - Eric Berry
S / Tennessee
6'0 211 lbs

There are scouts who will tell you Eric Berry is the best player in this years draft, and they could be right. He's a "do it all" safety, that Mangini would love to plug into his defense. Berry covers well, tackles well, blitzes well and makes plays on the ball. Cleveland will love how aggressive and instinctive he is on the field and be unable to pass up on this tremendous talent. The Browns draft ball hawk Eric Berry and right away become a better defense.

_________________________

8. Oakland Raiders - Bruce Campbell
OT / Maryland
6'6 314 lbs

The Raiders need to get better on offense. They need an upgrade on the line to improve both the passing game and the rushing game. Al Davis will have to compromise drafting the fastest player in the draft for drafting the fastest offensive lineman. Bruce Campbell may not be this high on everyone's draft board, but as we've seen in recent history, that won't stop Oakland. Campbell is still a freak athlete and a very talented offensive tackle. The Raiders do their own thing and draft the extremely athletic tackle out of Maryland.

_________________________

9. Buffalo Bills - Jimmy Clausen
QB / Notre Dame
6'3 222 lbs

Buffalo needs a lot of pieces. Quarterback is a good place to start. Jimmy Clausen is a strong armed prospect who is already familiar with the pro-style offense, coming out out of Notre Dame under Charlie Weiss. Clausen would ultimately be the replacement to both Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick, who both have failed to be consistent. Clausen has a very quick release and does a good job of making plays even when flushed out of the pocket. The Bills draft a guy they can build there offense around.

_________________________

10. Jacksonville Jaguars - Derrick Morgan
DE / Georgia Tech
6'3 266 lbs

The Jaguars really struggled creating a rush last year, and even with the signing of Kampman, Jacksonville could use more help. Derrick Morgan is a high-motor end who finds the quarterback well. His solid tackling skills and his ability to seek out the ball carrier will have Jacksonville fired up. The Jaguars take a pass rusher in hopes to create more turnovers and stop giving up big plays.

_________________________

11. Denver Broncos - Dez Bryant
WR / Oklahoma State
6'2 225 lbs

There are too many teams interested in Brandon Marshall for me to expect he'll be a Bronco next year. With that said, and under the impression Marshall will be out of Denver next year, I think the Broncos draft his replacement right away. Dez Bryant is a strong possession receiver who has excellent hands. The Broncos get a wide out who will either free up Brandon Marshall in double coverage or replace the star receiver in Denver.

_________________________

12. Miami Dolphins - Dan Williams
DT / Tennessee
6'2 327 lbs

Miami has a number of options with the 12th overall pick. They need a receiver, they need an edge rusher, and they need a safety. Over all that, I think the need for an anchor up front will have them calling Dan Williams come draft day. He's a powerful nose tackle who will create plays for the rest of the team. His combination of size and technique have scouts moving him up their draft boards. The Dolphins take a true nose tackle who can make an impact against the run and help create pressure.

_________________________

13. San Francisco 49ers - Trent Williams
OT / Oklahoma
6'5 315 lbs

Trent Williams may be the best run blocker in the draft. His combination of good strength and footwork allow him to pave lanes for whoever needs them. The 49ers would be getting their feature back Frank Gore a nice new gift. Williams might be best suited to play right tackle in the NFL where he can demonstrate his similarities to a plow. San Francisco drafts a strong offensive tackle who can lead the way.

_________________________

14. Seattle Seahawks - Anthony Davis
OT / Rutgers
6'5 323 lbs

The Seahawks draft C.J. Spiller earlier in the first round and now they draft him a big blocker. Davis has a good first punch and can drive defenders out of the way. He might make a better guard in the NFL because he doesn't have great tackle footwork. Regardless, Anthony Davis is powerful and can help the Seahawks develop a running game. Seattle gets a big tackle who may need some polishing, but will help out their offense.

_________________________

15. New York Giants - Rolando McClain
ILB / Alabama
6'3 254 lbs

McClain is a quick linebacker who can do it all. His coverage skills are good, and he takes good angles in his pursuit. The Giants gave up a lot of big plays last year on defense, and with the loss of Antonio Pierce you have to imagine Rolando McClain is at the top of New York's draft board. He's instinctive and can be a factor on a Giants defense that's trying to improve. The Giants draft a guy who can not only make plays, but be a leader and fill a huge hole at the inside linebacker position.

_________________________

16. Tennessee Titans - Jason Pierre-Paul
DE / USF
6'5 270 lbs

The Titans have lost Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch in the past two years. It's time to rebuild their front four on defense. Pierre-Paul is extremely impressive. The only thing that hurts his draft stock is his experience. Scouts worry he is a one year wonder. He is very fast and has good pass rushing moves. Pierre-Paul's ability to either fight through or dance around blockers should be intriguing enough for a Tennessee team that needs help up front on defense. The Titans get a freak athlete who will help stop the run and ruin a quarterback's day.

_________________________

17. San Francisco 49ers - Joe Haden
CB / Florida
5'11 193 lbs

The buzz on Haden has kind of quieted down for the moment. After running a poor 40 time at the combine, his draft stock seems to be falling. He's still a cover corner, and don't let his combine times fool you, Haden is fast. He can mirror receivers in man and gives the right amount of cushion in zone. The 49ers need defensive backs and Haden is a good one. He should see playing time right away. San Francisco gets what they need and adds the top corner in the draft to their defense.

_________________________

18. Pittsburgh Steelers - Kyle Wilson
CB / Boise State
5'10 194 lbs

Kyle Wilson has a lot of value to him. He's an effective weapon in the return game and he's a talented, physical cornerback. The Steelers lack strong depth at the corner spot and Wilson would be a great addition. He's a "right place, right time" kind of cornerback who isn't afraid of tackling. The Steelers will be able to use Wilson's talent and he could see a starting role right away. Pittsburgh drafts a play making cornerback with good all around skills.

_________________________

19. Atlanta Falcons - Sergio Kindle
OLB / Texas
6'3 250 lbs

The Falcons are in need of some pass rushing. Kindle's versatility to play both OLB and DE is a good fit in Atlanta. He's a strong, athletic player who shows good endurance. The Falcons will weigh their options and look at Brandon Graham here. They may also look into taking a receiver her. For now, it looks like the Falcons are searching for an edge rusher and Kindle makes for a good find.

_________________________

20. Houston Texans - Ryan Matthews
RB / Fresno State
6'0 218 lbs

When I think of the Texan's needs the one that stands out the most to me is their need for a cornerback after losing Dunta Robinson in free agency. The top two corner's in this draft, Haden and Wilson may not fall, and I don't think they will. In that case, they'll address the need for help in their running game. Ryan Matthews is a powerful back who is tough to bring down and can also play a part in the passing game. The Texans take a running back they can pair up with Steve Slaton to form a solid duo.

_________________________

21. Cincinnati Bengals - Jermaine Gresham
TE / Oklahoma
6'5 261 lbs

The Bengals need to give Carson Palmer more weapons on offense if they want to go further in the playoffs. Last year they had a potent running attack but just couldn't stretch the field through the air the way they would like to. Jermaine Gresham is a big tight end who has very good receiving skills. He uses his long wingspan to get to balls others can't. Cincinnati gets an explosive tight end to add to Carson Palmer's arsenal and hope to improve their passing game.

_________________________

22. New England Patriots - Jared Odrick
DT / Penn State
6'5 304 lbs

New England's defense seems to be in the rebuilding phase and they have needs in numerous spots of Bill Belichick's 3-4 scheme. The Patriots will have to start upfront and take a big guy who can frustrate the offensive line. Jared Odrick is a high character guy with ideal size for the 3-4 end. His physical style and quickness for size will make him hard to pass up for a New England team that lost Richard Seymour last year. The Patriots draft a strong defensive lineman who will improve their front three immediately.

_________________________

23. Green Bay Packers - Charles Brown
OT / USC
6'5 303 lbs

Charles Brown is highly-rated, and I still think he is underrated. He's a former tight end who has converted to the offensive tackle spot and done tremendous at USC. He's a very athletic tackle who has solid pass protection footwork. The only doubt scouts have about Brown is if he'll be strong enough to hold his blocks in the NFL. His abilities are on tape and his footwork makes up for any strength weakness scouts worry about. He helps offenses produce and Green Bay will look to get protection out of the former Trojan. The Packers take a talented offensive tackle in hopes of slowing Jared Allen and now Julius Peppers down.

_________________________

24. Philadelphia Eagles - Carlos Dunlap
DE / Florida
6'6 277 lbs

Nothing changes here, I still believe Dunlap only falls this far because of his off the field issues and I still believe the Eagles won't let him fall any further. His ability to rush the quarterback and wrap up the ball carrier are too good for Philadelphia to pass up. Dunlap is a fast end in the 4-3 scheme, who has good size and knows how to get to the quarterback. The Eagles take the troubled end with talent that speaks for itself,

_________________________

25. Baltimore Ravens - Devin McCourty
CB / Rutgers
5'11 193 lbs

McCourty is capable of playing on an island and could be a starter in Baltimore right away. He has great speed and coverage skills, but it's his toughness that will get the Ravens' attention. McCourty is a good fit in a Baltimore defense that's in need of a star corner. The Ravens draft the competitive defensive back out of Rutgers in hopes of getting a shutdown corner of their own.

_________________________

26. Arizona Cardinals - Sean Weatherspoon
OLB / Missouri
6'1 239 lbs

Weatherspoon is a strong leader who can come in to Arizona and become the starter. After the Cardinals lost their leading tackler, Dansby, they'll be on the lookout for a 'seek-and-destroy' linebacker that can be as effective as Dansby was. Despite signing Joey Porter, Arizona will be intrigued by Weatherspoon's strength, speed and leadership skills. He should be around come the 26th overall pick and the Cardinals would have a tough time passing him up.

_________________________

27. Dallas Cowboys - Earl Thomas
S / Texas
5'10 208 lbs

The Cowboys have bigger issues than safety, but if Earl Thomas fell to them I think Jerry Jones would have to draft him. He's a play maker who becomes very dangerous once he gets the ball. His speed and Instincts in coverage along with how elusive he is will make him a hot prospect come draft day. The Cowboys will be lucky if Thomas falls this far, but it's a possibility for sure. Dallas takes the ball hawk out of Texas and becomes a team that will make you pay for your quarterback's mistakes.

_________________________

28. San Diego Chargers - Jahvid Best
RB / California
5'10 199 lbs

After losing LaDainian Tomlinson, the Chargers number one area of concern is getting a running back who can produce. Jahvid Best is a home run hitter, who uses his speed to take it all the way. Best works incredibly well in space and will make defenders miss. The Chargers draft Jahvid Best in hopes of improving their running game in 2010.

_________________________

29. New York Jets - Taylor Mays
S / USC
6'3 230 lbs

Taylor Mays is a rare athlete. He's a gigantic safety with blazing speed. The only reason Mays falls this far is because of his sloppy coverage skills. Rex Ryan will take a chance on the USC big hitter in hopes of developing him into a premier safety. The Jets can address their defensive line and need for a wide receiver in the later rounds. After losing Kerry Rhodes it will be hard for the Jets to pass on Taylor Mays here.

__________________________

30. Minnesota Vikings - Mike Iupati
OG / Idaho
6'5 331 lbs

The Vikings have a solid team, and in 2009 they showed that off. When you look at their roster you see needs for interior linemen on both sides of the ball. Minnesota will seriously consider defensive tackle Brian Price here to eventually replace the aging Pat Williams. However, Iupati is an extremely talented guard who would be a perfect fit. He'll have the privilege of learning from fellow guard Steve Hutchinson and could see a starting role immediately in 2010. Minnesota looks to have an elite offensive line by drafting the big Idaho guard Mike Iupati.

_________________________

31. Indianapolis Colts - Maurkice Pouncey
C / Florida
6'4 304 lbs

Florida's center Maurkice Pouncey is moving up draft boards everyday. He's a smart, athletic lineman who makes good reads. The Colts may have Jeff Saturday, but they can't have him forever. Pouncey has the ability to come in and play guard for the time being. He shows good control of his blocks and knows how to contribute in both pass protection and run blocking. The Colts will draft a versatile lineman who can play alongside Saturday for now.

_________________________

32. New Orleans Saints - Brandon Graham
DE / Michigan
6'1 268 lbs

The Saints may not be lucky enough to have Brandon Graham still around at the last pick of the first round, but if they are, they'll be smart to draft him. Graham is an instinctive, versatile player who is projected to be either a defensive end or a pass rushing linebacker. New Orleans would benefit from Graham potential by using him in different packages. He has proven he can shutdown a play in the backfield and will improve any defense he joins. New Orleans takes the active pass rusher, Brandon Graham, at the end of the first round.

_________________________

My top 5 players who fall out of the first round :

1. Demaryius Thomas - WR / Georgia Tech
2. Brian Price - DT / UCLA
3. Everson Griffen - DE / USC
4. Patrick Robinson - CB / Florida State
5. St. Louis Rams - Ndamukong Suh
DT / Nebraska
6'4 307 lbs

Right now the buzz is on Sam Bradford. Many believe the Rams owe it to their franchise to draft a potentially "elite" quarterback. Although i can make a case for it, I still believe Ndamukong Suh's skill set is too rare to pass up. He's a massive defender who has the versatility to play tackle, end and many believe even nose tackle. He's a high-motor guy who will make an immediate impact in the NFL.

_________________________

2. Detroit Lions - Gerald McCoy
DT / Oklahoma
6'4 295 lbs

It's no secret that the lions need help in a lot of areas. One of which is finding an anchor for their defensive line. McCoy will give them that. He is an explosive player who fills gaps against the run and can get to the quarterback from the interior. The Lions might also want to consider trading down and collecting more picks.

_________________________

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Eric Berry
S / Tennessee
6'0 211 lbs

The Buccaneers have said they would like one of the top defensive tackles in the first round. I don't think they'll get that unless they make a deal with Detroit. If nothing gets done i see Tampa Bay taking Tennessee's star safety Eric Berry. He's not only a ball hawk but he makes plays against the run. Scouts have compared him to a Troy Palamalu or an Ed Reed. He'll fill a need and add a missing play making ability in Tampa's defensive backfield.

_________________________

4. Washington Redskins - Sam Bradford
QB / Oklahoma
6'4 236 lbs

The Redskins need offensive linemen, and this is a good year to get one. However, I think they ultimately decide to take Jason Campbell's replacement. Sam Bradford is a highly regarded quarterback who was extremely productive at Oklahoma. He's an accurate passer with good pocket awareness. He may not be a first year starter but the Redskins will be getting the future face of the franchise.

__________________________

5. Kansas City Cheifs - Russell Okung
OT / Oklahoma State
6'5 307 lbs

In a very deep group of talented linemen Okung stands out as the best. He's a powerful guy with good balance for his size. Has the speed to be effective and get to the next level in the running game. Kansas City will be thrilled if Okung falls past Washington.

_________________________

6. Seattle Seahawks - Bryan Bulaga
OT / Iowa
6'5 314 lbs

Seahawks could draft Jimmy Clausen here, as Matt Hasselbeck isn't getting any younger. I think they pass on Clausen and take Iowa's athletic lineman Bulaga. He's a tough player who does well in protection, something Seattle lacks. Plus with Walter Jones likely out they'll need to find a replacement.

_________________________

7. Cleveland Browns - Joe Haden
CB / Florida
5'11 193 lbs

Many people believe Haden hurt his draft stock by running a poor 40 time. I think Cleveland sees Joe Haden as a can't-miss opportunity. They have struggled against the pass in a pass-happy league. Haden is a guy who can play on an island, and although he didn't run well at the combine, the tape on this guy speaks for itself, He can mirror receivers and is a good tackler for a corner.

_________________________

8. Oakland Raiders - Anthony Davis
OT / Rutgers
6'5 323 lbs

The Raiders have avoided drafting a star linemen for years. I think Al Davis realizes now is the time and picks up a quality player in Anthony Davis. He's a strong, long-armed lineman who has an extremely good pass protection skill set. The Raiders look to give Jamarcus Russell some extra time to see down field by picking up a guy who could come right in and start at left tackle.

_________________________

9. Buffalo Bills - Jimmy Clausen
QB / Notre Dame
6'3 222 lbs

The Bills could go in a few directions with the ninth overall pick. They might want to pick up Alabama inside linebacker Rolando McClain, or they might even want to take Dez Bryant and improve their receiver corp. Instead I think Buffalo upgrades at the quarterback position with Jimmy Clausen. He comes from a pro-style offense and has a very accurate arm. He also has the ability to improvise when flushed out of the pocket. The only notch on Clausen is his immaturity. I think the Bills take the risk and draft a guy who should be able to start right away.

_________________________

10. Jacksonville Jaguars - Jason Pierre-Paul
DE / USF
6'5 270 lbs

Pierre-Paul is one of the most athletic players in this years draft. He's an extremely versatile player with stunning quickness and good endurance. I think the Jaguars see more than enough in the guy to take him tenth overall. Jacksonville has lacked a productive edge rusher for too long. Even with the acquisition of Aaron Kampman, Pierre-Paul is too tough to pass up for a team that ranked last in the pass rush last year. I don't know if Pierre-Paul will fall this far, but if he does Jacksonville won't let him fall any further.

_________________________

11. Denver Broncos - Dez Bryant
WR / Oklahoma State
6'2 225 lbs

The Broncos concern may be their 3-4 front. They need big guys who will demand two blockers. It's also obvious Brandon Marshall and Denver aren't meant for each other. I think they ignore their biggest need until the second round and take this years top receiver. Bryant is a talented wide out who catches the ball away from his body well. He has a good blend of speed and strength for the position. Denver will take a guy who will make it easier for them to part ways with Marshall.

_________________________

12. They still need to upgrade at wide receiver, nose tackle and safety. The Dolphins will take a good look at Earl Thomas here. He's a 'pick-six' kind of ball hawk, with tremendous speed and elusiveness. This safety out of Texas will give The Dolphins a play maker on defense as they continue to create an identity. He'll match up with last years cornerbacks Vontae Davis and Sean Smith to become a young, talented defensive backfield.

_________________________

13. So Singletary will wait four picks to get his guy, as they might not be able to pick up a tackle like Trent Williams four picks from now. Williams will give San Francisco a punishing run blocker to help pave the way for their workhorse Frank Gore.

_________________________

14. Seattle has had little success in the running game since Sean Alexander's prime. C.J. is a track star with blazing speed and good vision. He's not a huge back, but he will fight for yards. The Seahawks, will pass on a quarterback to replace the aging Matt Hasselbeck in the first round, and hope to draft Colt McCoy in the second round.

________________________

15. If he fell to them, there wouldn't even be a discussion about it. He fills a huge need at the inside linebacker position with the departure of veteran leader Antonio Pierce. McClain is the kind of linebacker you love to have, he's a solid tackler with great instincts. Closes gaps and has the speed and endurance to get to quicker backs. He is also a good coverage linebacker and will contribute in hurrying the quarterback. The Giants fill their biggest hole with Alabama's impressive middle linebacker, Rolando McClain.

_________________________

16. They could go defensive tackle with either Dan Williams or Brian Price in the first round. However, Derrick Morgan is a great tackler who will seek out the ball carrier and get to him quickly. Has great football instincts. The Titans will draft a smart end who can frustrate opposing quarterbacks and play a big role against the run game.

_________________________

17. He opted to stay at USC for his senior year. He hurt his draft stock by being sloppy in coverage. He's still a gigantic safety with superior speed. Mike Singletary will be thrilled to add this big-hit player to his defense. Mays will have to work on a few things but should be an extremely productive player in the right NFL defense.

_________________________

18. However, Dan Williams is a perfect fit as a 3-4 nose tackle. It's tough to find a true center piece for the 3-4 scheme and Williams is that guy. He'll split time with Casey Hampton and create opportunities for his surrounding teammates. Pittsburgh will take a tough guy with high potential.

_________________________

19. But he's a freak athlete and may just be the best receiver in the draft. He was very productive for a Georgia Tech offense that doesn't throw the ball all that much. He's a physical player who is reliable in traffic. Atlanta will pair him with Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez to give Matt Ryan an excellent set of weapons.

_________________________

20. Wilson will give them a durable coverage corner. He has impressive instincts and seems to be in the right place at the right times. The Texans fill a need with Kyle Wilson who can also contribute in the return game.

_________________________

21. Although Gresham missed the 2009 season with a knee injury he was a reliable target for Sam Bradford at Oklahoma. Has long arms and strong hands that allow him to get to off-target passes. Cincinnati looks to upgrade the tight end position and passing game with a guy who has proven he can be productive.

_________________________

22. Sergio Kindle is a perfect fit for the outside linebacker in New England's 3-4 defense. He is a strong pass rusher with a high motor. Kindle will pair with Mayo, Guyton and Banta-Cain to create a new identity for New England's linebacker corp.

_________________________

23. Campbell was already regarded as a first rounder but he solidified his stance by being a top performer in just about every category. Green Bay needs linemen and it's hard to imagine them not taking a pass protector like Campbell. Has the athleticism and strength to keep top rushers from getting to Aaron Rodgers, and that means a lot to a team that has to see Jared Allen and now Julius Peppers twice a year.

_________________________

24. Philadelphia has had experience with guys who struggle off the field (i.e. Mike Vick) and will give Dunlap a chance. He's a gifted end who shows good strength at the point of attack. Also displays the speed and instincts to be a factor against the run. Philadelphia takes a shot on a rare talent and looks to immediately improve their defense.

_________________________

25. McCourty is a competitive guy who will put in all the work. The Ravens will find he fits right in to their tough, aggressive style of play. McCourty is a good cornerback who will have a chance to be a starter right away for the Ravens.

_________________________

26. Sean Weatherspoon has been moving up draft boards due to his work ethic. He was a very productive player at Missouri. Has good coverage skills for a linebacker. Weatherspoon is a natural leader who can come in be effective for the Cardinals.

_________________________

27. Dallas might want to look at offensive linemen here and wait to get a receiver in the later rounds. However, I think the Cowboys see too much in Golden Tate to pass him up. He comes from a pro-style offense with a creative quarterback, much like Romo. Tate is one of the better route-runners in this draft and can make circus catches. Although he is fast, he's not explosive. Paired up with Miles Austin, the Cowboys will get a play maker to add to their improving offense.

_________________________

28. The point is the Chargers are in need of a running back after watching L.T.'s production fade. Now that Tomlinson has been released it's time for the Chargers to take the best back they can with their first round pick. Although the buzz is on Matthews now, I still believe after Spiller, Jahvid Best is the best running back available. He's an elusive player who has the ability to go all they way at any time. Once Best gets into space, he becomes extremely difficult to wrap up. The Chargers will weigh in on all the available running backs but ultimately draft California speedster Jahvid Best.

_________________________

29. The youngest player in their front three was 30. New York will pick up Jared Odrick, who has perfect size for a 3-4 end. Odrick is quick for a big guy and does not shy away from contact, which Rex Ryan will love. He'll add youth and be a key piece to an elite defense. Don't be surprised if the Jets trade up to get USC safety Taylor Mays to replace Kerry Rhodes though.

_________________________

30. Minnesota Vikings - Brian Price
DT / UCLA
6'1 303 lbs

Minnesota's Pat Williams is nearing the end of his career and the Vikings will need to replace him eventually. Now might be the time. Price is a perfect fit in Minnesota's 4-3 defense. He's a run stuffing interior lineman with good power. He'll be able to see action right away and could compete for a starting role.

_________________________

31. Indianapolis Colts - Brandon Graham
DE / Michigan
6'1 268 lbs

Indianapolis really could have used more depth at the end position during the super bowl last year. I think they remember that come draft day. Graham is a small guy, but very competitive. He has the ability to be a real play maker when it comes to rushing the quarterback. The Colts will add Brandon Graham in hopes to develop him into a future starter.

_________________________

32. New Orleans Saints - Everson Griffen
DE / USC
6'3 273 lbs

Potentially the steal of the draft. Griffen is a really impressive defensive end who could play in either a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme. His combination of speed and strength makes him a really attractive pick for the Saints. Has the power to move blockers and speed to get to the quarterback. Griffen hasn't done anything to hurt his draft stock, I just think he's under the radar right now. The Saints would be thrilled to get Griffen, but by draft day another team might have taken notice of his talent.

_________________________

Mock Draft 1.0

ROUND 1
________________________________

1. The AFC remains confused and congested with possible scenarios. The Colts, Chargers, Patriots and Bengals are in. The wild card is as up for grabs as it gets. If the season ended today the Broncos and Jets would be in the playoffs. Lucky for fans of the NFL and drama, the season does not end today. The Ravens, Texans, Steelers, Dolphins and Jaguars all have a shot at making it. The last Sunday of the regular season will be worth watching.

The Broncos and Jets are in control of their own destinty. Win on Sunday and you're in. Simple as that, kind of. Denver started this season coming off a shaky at best off-season. Including the loss of their quarterback Jay Cutler, a new head coach in Josh McDaniels (who is replacing one of the greats Mike Shanahan) and the temper tantrums of star wide out Brandon Marshall. Nobody expected them to start the season going 6-0 into their bye week. Their defense and a few lucky breaks had them looking like one of the premier teams. Unfortunately things got rough for Denver coming out of their bye week, they lost their first four games after. Coming into this Sundays match up against the hopeless Chiefs, The Broncos have lost their previous three games. Although Brandon Marshall is playing with some intensity and their defense has a lot going for them, you need to be running on all cylinders. Denver will need to get things going if they want to get in to the playoffs and make a run.

The Jets will also need to win this Sunday if they want to see the post-season. Under rookie head coach Rex Ryan the Jets stand at 8-7. They lead the NFL in rushing, and their defense is ranked number one. However rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez has had turnover issues, throwing an ugly 20 interceptions coming into the final week of the season. New York has also been hurt by losing two pro-bowl caliber players Kris Jenkins and Leon Washington to season ending injuries. Starting the season 3-0 with upset wins over Houston, New England and Tennessee. Then losing the next three including two division rivalry games to Miami and Buffalo. Their final game of the regular season will be against the Bengals. A team that has locked up a spot in the playoffs and may rest their starters against New York. The Jets will need to avoid turning the ball over on Sunday and play like it's do or die, because it is for them.

As for Baltimore, Houston, Pittsburgh, Miami and Jacksonville. One thing they all have in common is they have to win if they even want a shot. If Denver and, or New York lose Sunday, the AFC wild card is open for grabs. Look to see some aggressive and exciting AFC games January 3rd.

Ndamukong Suh

Just your average, everyday 6'4, 300 lb kid. As a twenty-two year old senior for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Ndamukong Suh has emerged this year as an elite defensive lineman. Harassing opposing offenses. He posted an impressive 82 tackles, including 23 tackles for a loss, 12 of them being sacks. His stats are nice, but they don't do him justice. It's more than his tackles in the backfield. He dominates the line of scrimmage consistently putting pressure on the quarterback causing hurried throws. Suh also registered an interception, three blocked kicks and batted down 10 passes with his log sized arms. His speed makes him difficult to get away from and his strength makes him just about unstoppable.

So, what now? The 2010 NFL Draft.
Ndamukong will be the hottest prospect in the draft. He is athletic and versatile enough and has ideal size to play as defensive tackle in a 4-3 system or as a defensive end in a 3-4 system. His footwork is NFL caliber already and Suh would make an immediate impact on any defense he joins. With a reliable motor that seems to never shutdown and the ability to drive offensive lineman out of the way he will be selected inside the top five picks. Possibly as high as the number one overall selection.
